Holland Thomas was pleased to present at Xchanging’s Healthcare and OHS Forum in Melbourne alongside Kevin Ford, Worksafe, and Mary Hill, Safe Work Practice.
Kevin spoke on preventing and addressing bullying at work, and Mary spoke about manual handling in healthcare. Both were very knowledgeable in their fields.
In our presentation, we spoke of understanding the safety challenges of managing aggression and violence in healthcare. We touched on statistics on aggression and violence in community care including preliminary results of the 2013 Home Care, Community Care and Outreach Staff Safety Survey, incident reporting, security systems, the importance of effective training that achieves a level of competency, and My Safety Buddy.
